COLLAGE OF LAW


Started in 1984, Willamette's one-month summer study is the oldest law school summer exchange program in China. As the premier program, it has served as a model for other study abroad programs in China. The host school, the East China University of Politics and Law, is China's leading institution in the burgeoning fields of trade and investment. The school is located in Shanghai, China's largest city, leading port and commercial trade center. Students from around the world participate in the program, particularly from the United States, Australia and Canada, and from South Korea, the Netherlands and Switzerland. The program provides five hours of transferable, ABA-approved credit. Classes are taught in English.
Study in Germany
Bucerius Law SchoolHamburg, Germany
In 2002, the College of Law introduced a fall semester study program at Bucerius Law School that is the only ABA-approved semester program for legal instruction at a private law school in Europe. The school's dean and faculty are recognized as some of the world's leading experts in international and comparative law. At Bucerius, students learn from a corps of energetic, multilingual law professors who, together with leading practitioners, teach a global law curriculum. Courses are offered in English and German.
Study in Ecuador
Pontifical Catholic University of EcuadorQuito, Ecuador
The College of Law administers a spring semester study program at the premier law school of the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador for second- and third-year law students. Since 1995, the program has provided participants with an intensive concentration on the fundamentals of a civil law system and Latin American legal institutions. Participants take law courses in Spanish.
